Five budding Indie Music artists who are worth adding to your playlist.

Music means different things to people. Far from the mainstream tunes of English and Bollywood tunes that ring our ears, several independent artists have made a name for themselves by creating music that has certainly struck the right note.

Thanks to social media, that transcends all geographical barriers, these rising stars have taken their music to foreign shores and reached out to millions. What we see today is that the Independent music scene is really soaring high in India and given us some prominent artists who have made their way into our playlists.

Here’s a rundown of 5 budding/upcoming new talent who are putting out amazing tunes:

Sonalisa Mishra

Born and brought up in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, Sonalisa Mishra is currently making waves Down Under in Brisbane. The trained Odissi dancer has most of her melodies inspired from Sonalisa Mishra’s song, Bin Tere from her album ‘Pyaar Ho Gaya’ is a pleasant melody that evokes deep emotions and aims to bring immense comfort to its listeners.

Anuv Jain

Anuv Jain, just another boy who followed his passion for music right from the very beginning and never looked back. Pursuing his love for the guitar and displaying it across social media, Anuv’s music is dominated by acoustic or clean electric guitars, putting out commonly felt emotions at ease lyrics. We suggest you listen to Alag Aasmaan and Baarishein for they are nothing short of amazing. With an ever-increasing popularity, Anuv also stakes claim to a YouTube Silver button.

Maati Baani

Maati Baani consists of Hindustani vocalist Nirali Kartik and award-winning Composer/Music producer Kartik Shah. Their melodies are a lot inspired by Hindustani classical music and they often collaborate with artists from various countries and it certainly adds up a mesmerizing experience for the listeners. Boondan Boondan is one of their popular tracks.

Alisha Pais

Alisha has been in the indie scene for quite some time now. Along with being a lyricist and poet, having developed a knack for it from a very young age, Alisha shares her love for music with new-born children via music therapy classes and is also the music instructor for a pre-school. Having faced initial days of struggle, she finally got her much-deserved big break through Colors Infinity's singing reality show named 'The Stage.'

Dhruv Visvanath

Dhruv the boy from Delhi is here to steal your heart with a guitar in his hand. Dhruv believes a lot in self producing and keeping it homegrown when it comes to music. The percussive guitar played in The Lost Cause is unmissable to say the very least.
