With the much loved Jazz Yatra now history since over decade, ZiZiland Jazz Festival is a welcome concept to reintroduce Mumbai to the Jazz greats once again. This Saturday, go down memory lane as a talented bunch relives the magic of the 50s and 60s, in a debut edition of Ziziland Jazz Festival in Mumbai.
A town of dreams, sax solos, the rat pack, dance and happiness Ziziland is a festival created to bring together the young and old, the music lovers and free spirits, the jazz maestros and the young jazz cats. Open the doors to this magical Wonderland and experience the sounds that take you away to Ziziland on this Saturday, 8th July, 2017 at St. Andrews Auditorium, Bandra (West). The festival will feature two rocking shows:
In the first, Bombay Jazz Club, featuring Samantha Edwards (vocals), D Wood (bass), Karim Ellaboudi (keys) and Aron Nyiro (drums), will pay tribute to the Queen of Jazz, Ella Fitzgerald, on the occasion of her 100th birth anniversary that fell in April this year. Edwards, one of the best jazz vocalists in India will bring 13 times Grammy award winner alive on stage with the absolutely brilliant group of musicians in tow.
The second show will showcase The Rat Pack Songbook, songs sung by Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr and Frank Sinatra the trio who were known as The Rat Pack. This set will see India's leading Jazz pianist and keyboardist Louiz Banks alongside his son rhythm machine / drummer Gino, with lush and riveting vocals by Gary Lawyer and bassist Sheldon D'Silva.
