American mega superstar Jay-Z is at the top currently with his latest album ‘4:44’ topping the Billboard 200 chart making it his 14th studio album to reach that position. The rapper has extended his own record for the most No. 1s among soloists. Jay-Z secures his 14th album on the Billboard 200 chart as his latest release
‘4:44’ debuts atop the tally. According to Nielsen Music, in the week ending July 13, the set earned 262,000 equivalent album units which also happens to be the fourth largest for any album in 2017. With ‘4:44’ debuting on top, it expands Jay-Z’s record of the only solo artist to have 14 No. 1s in the 61-year old history of the Billboard 200.
Adding yet another achievement to the list is the artist himself re-entering the Artist 100 chart making him the fifth act to do so. The Artist 100, which was launched in July 2014, measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity. Furthermore, the artist has released an eight minute video to the album for the singles 4:44 and The Story of O.J.
