Saregama, Celina Jaitly and United Nations launch Bollywood style music video.

Saregama India Ltd., India's flagship music and entertainment company is proud to associate with Celina Jaitly and the United Nations human rights office in launching the United Nations' first ever Bollywood-style human rights video in which Celina Jaitly debuts her first single a recording artist exclusively for the UN.

The video will highlight universal themes of love, acceptance and mutual respect in an Indian family environment shot with a Bollywood theme. The soundtrack for the video is a new version of the 1979 Bollywood classic Uthe Sab Ke Kadam, brilliantly recomposed and remixed by Neeraj Shreedhar of Bombay Vikings.

In an effort to generate maximum interest in the video's message, Celina Jaitly has for the first time lent her vocals and made an exclusive musical debut for the United Nations, along with Neeraj Shridhar. The result is an infectious, foot-tapping new anthem for equality. Celina Jaitly was nominated last year as a United Nations Equality Champion for her support for the UN's global Free & Equal campaign. Other Equality Champions supporting the campaign include latin star Ricky Martin, recent Grammy award-winning rap stars Ryan and Mackelmore, the U.S. indie band Fun, Brazilian pop star Daniela Mercury and the South African singer and activist Yvonne Chaka Chaka.

Free and Equal is an unprecedented United Nations global public education campaign for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality.  A project of the United Nations Human Rights Office being implemented in partnership with the Purpose Foundation, Free & Equal aims to raise awareness of homophobic and transphobic violence and discrimination, and promote greater respect for the rights of LGBT people everywhere.

The campaign is engaging millions people around the world in conversations that will help promote the fair treatment of LGBT people and generate support for measures to protect their rights. The video will be released online and made freely available on a non-commercial basis.
