The seven-day independent music festival kicks off with its Mumbai edition before heading to home ground of seven years - Delhi - in December. A new city for the festival has also been announced; The Gig Week is headed to Bangalore in January 2018.
Having showcased fresh and flavored music from India and beyond, The Gig Week has come to represent a ground for discovery that celebrates all sorts of musical genres and preferences. As the festival nears its seventh edition, the focus is as much on curating exciting music as on going deeper into the gig microcosms of individual cities.
Taking place at neighborhood bars, clubs and gig venues spread across the city, the traveling festival showcases a different genre and experience each weeknight, forming a sonic takeover of modern Indian cities that celebrates its artists, music venues and people. The festival renewed its association with Jack Daniel’s and announced a new partnership with India’s leading beer brand, Budweiser.
This year’s festival, witnesses artists like Siddharth Basrur, Tajdar Junaid, flying shoe, Second Sight, Simetri, Tejas, Burudu, G.A.D. , Maalik, Soulmate, The Family Cheese, Aditi Ramesh, Mohit Mukhi, Dhruv Vishvanath, Nanok, Cowboy & the Sailor Man and FuzzCulture.
