Wildfire, that’s how quickly news spread of a quirky café/co-working space nestled in Khar that had just rolled up its shutters to Mumbai. Judging by the gazillion selfies and groupfies taken there everyday, it’s conservative to say that in just about 2 years of operations, Khar Social has established itself as a screaming success.

A landmark when it comes to being an all-day café and bar, a co-working space for the creative communityanda culture hub formusic, workshops and curated documentary screenings at antiSOCIAL. In the past two years, Khar Social has hosted some of the most amazing gigs and has executed various meaningful collaborations for its patrons.

This time is no different, for their 2^nd Anniversary, Khar Social plans on breaking the monotony of eatingout and cause a disrupt in the quite by-lanes of Khar with an urban one-day music festival, Disrupt, spread across three stages in the cozy space. Each stage will be consumed by a different genre of music, featuring a diverse range of acts spanning across genres like Afro-Beat, House, Hip-Hop, Dub, Grime, UK Garage, and Bass Music in collaboration with Mixtape.

The daylong event will be co-headlined by Clap! Clap!, all the way from Italy, along with one of the most well known names and recognizable faces from the UK Garage/Grime scene, a poster boy and the Birmingham, England based producer and bassist, Preditah.

The venue will welcome guests with celebratory décor, quirky installations and day-long very exciting offers. On the spot offers and games will be announced along the spirit of the anniversary.

The three stages for the festival would be the Terrace Stage, Room 1 and Room 2. The festival will kick off at 5 pm with a 3 hour b2b featuring Bhavishyavani Future Soundz head honcho M.Mat, and Magnetic Fields founders, Moniker (Munbir Chawla / Wild City), and Eng. (KunalLodhia / WeThePpl / Grime Riot Disco). Room 1 and Room 2 will feature a variety of artists such as the reggae/dub selectors, Harbour Dubs, the hip hop, grime, and trap collective, MadStarBase, Bangalore based label Consolidate’s founder, _RHL, UK Garage/Grime maestro, Preditah, purveyor of fractured beats and experimental bass music, EchoFloat, the young maverick at the forefront of the new age alternative electronic wave in the country, Zokhuma, EZ Riser aka Sohail Arora and Clap! Clap.

“With Disrupt, we want the audiences to experience an urban festival like they have never experienced before”, says Naveen Deshpande, Founder Director at Mixtape. He adds, “At Mixtape, tradition has always been to put heavy emphasis on the production of the gig with cutting edge sound, lights, and video – which comes in priority right after the curation. With this arsenal we hope to create a sort of chaos within harmony.”
