Oprah’s trending speech at 75th Golden Globe Awards hits big time

Hollywood stars gathered at the 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills on Sunday to celebrate the best of television and film. Seth Meyers hosted the show, where most actors and actresses wore black to protest sexual harassment.

The 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards were held at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. This year, the event was hosted by talk show host Seth Meyers. The night kicked off Hollywood’s annual awards season on Sunday, January 7, with several strong statements in support of the #MeToo movement as well as the usual mix of expected, surprising, and flat-out weird winners in both film and television.

‘Big Little Lies’ was the big little winner in the TV categories, while ‘Lady Bird’ and ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri’ staked Oscars claims in the film awards.

Nicole Kidman won an acting Globe for her role on ‘Big Little Lies’, a show she also produced, but the other nominated Australians went home empty-handed.

Oprah Winfrey created history at the 75th Golden Globe Awards as she became the first black woman to receive the honorable Cecil B. DeMille award. However, it was her exceedingly powerful speech, that moved the everyone. "What I know for sure is that speaking your truth is the most powerful tool we all have."
