Makoto Nakamura is one of the most sought after pianists in Japan. Nakamura will be joined by renowned Japanese Jazz Drummer Ko Omura and our much loved local American Jazz bassist Mr. D Wood to recreate Jazz Standards Magic in a classic Jazz Trio setting. In this concert, the trio will display a variety of musical excerpts from the modern jazz idiom paying homage to the iconic innovators of this style of music such as, Bill Evans, Cedar Walton, Hank Jones and Keith Jarrett.

Makoto Nakamura (Pianist):
Makoto Nakamura is one of the most sought after pianists in Japan. His career expands from intricate improvisational projects to backing up some of the finest singers in Japan to authentic Jazz piano trio. He has released a number of records under his own name both in the Solo piano and trio domains. He hasrecorded with Horacio Hernandez and Robby Ameen, both Cuban rhythmic virtuosos in Chie Ayado's group. He pays great respect to pianists such as Hank Jones, Cedar Walton Bill Evans and Keith Jarrett and is highly credited for his ability in improvising in such styles
Ko Omura (Drums)
Ko Omura is a highly credited drummer and composer in Japan. He is involved in a variety of projects globally. He pursues Tabla under the guidance under Pandit Yogesh Samsi and has been nurturing a friendly relationship with India since 2013. He has toured globally and has performed and recorded with some of the most renowned musicians worldwide such as, Mike Nock(ECM) Dale Barlow, Davy Mooney, John Ellis, Matt Clohesy, Barney McAll, Michiyo Yagi, Yoshio Suzuki(Jazz Messengers, Stan Getz) and more.
