Jazz enthusiast are in for a special musical journey of Jazz later this month when Jus Jazz 2018 presents Grammy Award nominated Jazz pianist John di Martino accompanying him is Warren Vache a tremendous trumpeter, cornetist and flugelhorn player.
The show is presented by VH1 and Jazz Addicts LLP comprising of Pradip Bhatia and Apurva Agarwal.
The evening promises to be an action packed one with high standards of Jazz fusion music being performed by this Quartet. The show will be held on Tuesday 27th November 2018 at Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir, Bandra at 8 p.m
John di Martino is a jazz pianist, arranger and producer, based in New York City. He has been described as a "shape-shifter", for his creativity across musical genres. John has performed and recorded with David "Fat Head" Newman, Pat Martino, Houston Person and Taj Mahal. John di Martino is a sought-after musical director. He has accompanied Jon Hendricks, Keely Smith, Billy Eckstine and Janis Siegel. John's talents as arranger and pianist can be heard on recordings with Gloria Lynn, and Grady Tate.
John's discography includes many Grammy nominated cd, among those are:"Love" with Issac Delgado, "Freddy Cole Sings Mr. B", and "Live and in Clave" with Bobby Sanabria.
John di Martino was a long time member of Ray Barretto's "New World Spirit", John is a featured pianist and arranger on several of Mr. Barretto's recordings including: "Portraits In Jazz And Clave" ( featuring James Moody, Kenny Burrell, Joe Lovano and Steve Turre) and the Grammy nominated, CD: "Contact". Born in Philadelphia, Pa; John studied with Lennie Tristano and Don Sebesky.
John's newest release as a leader "Turnaround" is now available at CD Baby and ITunes.
Accompanying John Di Martino on stage will be the dynamic jazz cornetist, Warren Vache who is a highly regarded performer known for his dedication to small-group swing. Vache, who always had a beautiful tone and a chance-taking style, is the son of a fine bassist (Warren Vache Sr) and the brother of clarinettist Allan Vache.
He studied music with Pee Wee Erwin: gained early experience playing with Benny Goodman, Vic Dickenson, and Bob Wilber and has been a leader since the mid-'70s with albums like 1976's First Time Out, 1979's Polished Brass, and 1989's Warm Evenings.
Often teamed in his early years with tenor man Scott Hamilton, Vache continued to record often, and has been a regular at jazz parties and swing-oriented festivals. He has stayed active, delivering albums like 2004's Dream Dancing, 2006's Don't Look Back with the Scottish Ensemble, and 2011's Ballads and Other Cautionary Tales.
In 2014, he paired with long-time associate saxophonist Alan for The Cobbler's Waltz, followed in 2017 by The Jazz Cats with pianist George Small and French horn player Sarah Larson.
