The Brit awards is recognized as a global music institution that annually celebrates UK chart and commercial successes. Celebrating the 39th edition since its debut year in 1977, BRIT Awards 2019 was held at The O2 Arena in London on Thursday 21st February 2019.
The Brit Awards 2019 saw Jack Whitehall returning as host for the second year running and the performances line-up is unlike any before, with an all-star roster of 2019 nominees setting the stage on fire.
‘The Greatest Showman’ Hugh Jackman kicked-off the show with a spectacular performance or as some may say ‘The Greatest Show’.
Multi-million record selling producer and DJ Calvin Harris made his debut BRITs performance in a unique collaboration with 2018 British Female and British Breakthrough winner Dua Lipa and 3x BRIT winners Sam Smith and Rag‘n’Bone Man
Calvin Harris not only set the stage blazing with his performance but also grabbed two honors – ‘British Single of the Year’ & ‘Producer of the Year awards for the hit track One Kiss.
George Erza won ‘Best British Male Solo Artist’ while Jorja Smith was conferred the ‘Best British Female Solo Artist’ title, while Ed Sheeran was conferred the award of ‘Global Success’.
Winning the accolade of ‘Best British Group’ and ‘Album of the Year’ for their album – ‘A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships’, The 1975 came up atop at the 2019 BRIT Awards
And after a dominant reign at the Grammys, it comes as no surprise that Drake won the ‘International Male Solo Artist’ with Ariana Grande clinching the ‘International Female Solo Artist’ awards
In a celebration of musical brilliance, Beyonce and Jay-Z picked up the award for the ‘Best International Group’, with the power-couple recreating their Apseshit music video with a surprise, as the Mona Lisa portrait was replaced with one of Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle
Becoming the first-ever global pop icon P!NK closed the show with an explosive (literally) four-song medley performance
If you missed out the fun, you can catch all the action tonight and watch the 39th edition of Britain’s most coveted and celebrated music awards ceremony at 9pm exclusively on Vh1 India.
