Bono has posted a hand-drawn message to Manila, announcing a new date on the band's upcoming Joshua Tree Tour - the first time U2 have played in the Philippines. "Bono, Edge, Adam and Larry coming to rock you hard & soft... loud & vivid, black & white & colour Dec 11."The band will play the Philippine Arena in Manila on Wednesday, 11 December.
Rumours in the music industry in Mumbai also state that the band might tour India and the likely date is 16th December 2019 at the Y.B Patil Grounds in Navi Mumbai. This was the same venue where teen superstar Justin Bieber performed on 10th May 2017.
"We really wanted to bring The Joshua Tree Tour to Asia," added Edge. Already The Joshua Tree Tour is taking the band to Singapore and to Seoul for the first time, along with long-awaited return visits to New Zealand, Australia and Japan. The Joshua Tree Tour 2019 kicks off in Auckland on 8th November and will visit Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth, before moving on to Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul and now Manila.
