Lucky Ali back on the block

Singer-songwriter, composer, actor, philanthropic, farmer - man of mystery. A few of these words come close to describing the elusive Lucky Ali.

He was in the news being one of the notable speakers at the IIT Bombay’s - ALANKAR- The Distinguished Lecture Series which will take place at Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management (SJMSOM), IIT Bombay, on Friday, 25th October. The Alankar series of lecture have in the past featured the likes of veteran actor Kamal Hasan, commentator Harsha Bhogle- Commentator, Adi Godrej- Chairman Godrej Group, and many others.

Lucky Ali’s wanderlust has led him to many places and to practice different vocations. A man with many stories, Lucky Ali will be sharing from the myriad life experiences which have gone into shaping the man that we know him as today. Always a man of his own, he steps back in to the public domain only when he has something to say, be it a voice to air his support on a philanthropic mission or a piece of music.

His most recent projects include a packed dossier. Fox Traveller’s Sound Trek, where Lucky experiments with folk music from Ladakh. Produced by Blue Frog, SoundTrek features global artists travel to 18 different Indian destinations to collaborate with local artists and re-invent their hit songs. Artists like Lucky Ali, Advaita, Parikrama, Midival Punditz, Noori, Hari & Sukhmani, Avial, Indus Creed, Soulmate etc. are featured in the show.

When it comes to concerts, Ali’s plate is always full. He is just back performing at the NH7 Delhi and Bangalore. He was also a part of Windsong, the concept of Percept, the last year.

There’s also the upcoming Bollywood Hindi movie Dil Patang wherein the title track of the movie will be sung by Lucky Ali.
