The BRIT Awards 2020 – An unmissable night celebrating British brilliance

The 2020 Brit awards were held on Wednesday 18th February at the O2 Arena in London, It was also the 40th edition of the British Phonographic Industry’s annual pop awards. Jack Whitehall was the host for the night, making it his third year running.

The British Phonographic Industry has "revamped” the award categories for this year's ceremony. Several award categories have been renamed and abolished, reducing the number of awards from thirteen to nine. The Brit Awards this time had no support from fan voting and was aimed to start "giving artists' complete artistic control over their performances. Brits Committee chairman David Joseph stated "Most importantly we will be putting creativity, British culture and exceptional performances at the heart of the show to make Brits night a world class celebration.”

Here are the Abolished categories:

International Group Award, Best British Video Award, Outstanding Contribution to Music Award and Global Succes Award.

That aside, now don’t miss out on the best moments from the glitzy awards night:

The starlet from Los Angeles teased audience with a live debut of the new theme song from the upcoming James Bond movie “No Time to Die” creating a frenzy at the O2.
