Indian modern metal band Within Ceres are proud to present their debut EP titled ‘Skyless’,which was released on 20th June 2020 worldwide. The six-piece outfit from thestate of Goa is making waves with their recent music teasers and are a much sought-afteract since they started off in 2014. Bringing to the table some of the finest elements ofmodern and progressive metal, their smashing debut is full of heavy riffing, not forgettinggut-pounding drums, mean growls and memorable choruses. The cutting-edge productionon this album is like no other seen in recent times.

‘Within Ceres’ was formed by guitarist and producer Odin De Sa in 2014 to compete at a college band competition called’ Searock’ at BITS Pilani Institute in Goa, India. The band’s unique blend of modern metal is unseen in India, and they are one of the tightest, most fierce emerging bands to come out of a part of India where you can count bands on your fingers. Their high production standards for self-produced and recorded material is rare.

The band’s current lineup consists of Odin De Sa (Guitars and Production), Arnold Carvalho (vocals), Naizian Fernandes (Keys), Kadesh D’souza (Guitars), Nathan Fernandes (Drums), and Valiston Fernandes (Bass). Over the years, the band has played and competed at numerous Battles of the Bands all over India and secured top positions. They’ve won competitions such as Anaadyanta (Bangalore) Roots by Zygnema (Mumbai) and many more.

Guitarist and producer of Odin De Sa first took the country by surprise with his debut single The Firefly under the name Feeding in Atlantis back in 2014. The song featured Ukrainian singer Mary Koblova, and later went on to winning the Rolling Stone Metal Award (India) for Best New Single - Critics’ Choice. This brought more attention to when Odin’s songs shaped into a long term project, a band including more members playing their own brand of music live. They are the first metal band from Goa to make it into other cities with a bigger following in the metal music genre.

‘Skyless’ EP - The Concept

Ceres is an artificial reality that exists in the future. Users enter this reality through a headset much more advanced than our current VR devices and are free to travel and exist in any reality that they wish to be in. The use of Ceres is extensive as the world has progressed in the past 60 years, shriveling and deteriorating with time. We are talking about concrete jungles with neon sign boards everywhere. To escape this dystopian world, users like to find themselves in a place of their liking. Lost, somewhere Within Ceres. All the songs in the EP are about different swings and settings within Ceres.
