There are over 30 million refugees in the world. Every day, more and more people are displaced and are forced to flee due to war, economic hardship, and various forms of persecution. In the future, it is estimated that over 13 million coastal dwellers could be forced to evacuate due to climate change creating a new category called Climate refugees.
The UN Refugee Agency is a two time Nobel Peace Prize-winning global organisation dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights and building a better future for refugees. It is an immense honour for me to partner with this fantastic organisation and UNESCO MGIEP to create a powerful new project called ‘Ricky with Refugees’. Over the next two months, Ricky will be collaborating with 20 refugee artists from around the world to compose some brand new music to inspire and keep their dreams alive. “This will be an incredibly creative collaboration and I am thrilled to share this with you” shares Kej.
