Mumbai based singer/songwriter Shannon Donald, has just released her first single Happy Place, a song that brings about a sense of hope during a difficult time for all of us.

She takes you on a dreamy journey of easy to strong vocals, extremely well woven into the lyrics, with very interestingly placed chords/production chops by prolific composer and arranger Gulraj Singh.

Shannon wrote the song way back in 2014, when the world had gone through several disasters. Cut to release week in 2020, she realised it became way more relevant this year, when the entire world is going through a dark time together.

Everyone has a happy place, it could be a person, with a pet, or even a special moment, but what will you do to protect it, On her debut single she says, “There’s a guilt inside from just living in a world that’s just pretending. There is always a place within us that we need to keep safe, sacred & protected. It’s like a reminder to keep the things you love close to you or you could lose them”

Mixed and mastered by ace engineer Aftab Khan, Happy Place creates a soundscape of beauty with its synthy pop layers & use of multiple harmonies everywhere.
