Following the success of Let There Be Love on mainstream US pop radio, Maverick signee and multi-platinum singer-songwriter Ananya is gearing up to unleash yet another certified firecracker of a track.
A lush pop record stacked with emotive intensity, Everybody’s Lost is hewn from the glittery undertones of self-discovery amidst purposeless anarchy and enveloping angst. The upbeat tempo and cheery lyrics offset the soul-searching, ultimately making it feel like everything will be okay, eventually.
Martin Landgreve directed the stridently commanding music video that metaphorically showcases the songstress’ yearning to escape from the shackles of claustrophobic-esque dispositions of modern day living as she second-guesses the purpose of life walking around inside the white washed confined spaces of her own mind.
Ananya’s knack for razor-sharp lyrics shines through, while Australian EDM whiz-kid Rhys Toms of the alias Black Summer and Grammy Award-winning sound engineer Tek’s impeccably arranged synths and strings ebb and flow perfectly.
Speaking of the track Ananya says, “We all tend to get consumed by the mindless rat race and sometimes we lose sight of our life’s true goals. This track is a reminder call to let loose and not be harsh on oneself in a circumstance of misplaced purpose. Sometimes we are all lost, and it’s more than okay to be directionless and enjoy the moment for what it is. You've got to be in the right kind of groove to figure out your purpose successfully, to not get annoyed by the long stretches of never-ending roadblocks, the bone-tiredness that overcomes you when you're midway to your destination, and the inevitable soul-searching over life decisions.”
Let There Be Love which lapped up the airwaves on the largest American national top 40 pop radio show, Sirius was Ananya’s first release of 2020 - following on from last year’s debut EP ‘Fingerprint’ and standalone release Day Goes By feat. Sean Kingston.
Recorded during lockdown at Ananya’s makeshift home studio in Los Angeles, the song was produced by Grammy-winning producer Aaron Pearce (Fifth Harmony, Justin Bieber, Pitbull) andmastered by Dave Kutch (Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus, Chance The Rapper, Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keys, Rae Sremmurd, Fifth Harmony).
Since becoming the first homegrown artist to go platinum with an English song in India in 2017, Ananya has racked up over 300 million global streams, performed at some of Asia’s biggest music events and opened for major artists including Wiz Khalifa. 2020 is set to be seminal for Ananya, though performances in the US and UK have been delayed, she is gearing-up for the release of her second EP before the end of the year.
