Grammy and Tony Award-winning vocalist, songwriter, author and actor Leslie Odom, Jr. recently debuted the vibrant music video for Little Drummer Boy, from his new holiday album, ‘The Christmas Album’, released in November via S-Curve Records/BMG. 

Leslie’s version of this Christmas classic is performed with the Mzansi Youth Choir from South Africa, who offer a beautiful, youthful sound, providing a unique blend of energy, spirit, and devotion to South African music, which matches the colorful visuals and energetic choreography. Associated Press proclaimed, “The Christmas Album celebrates diversity and comfort in a year when both are sorely needed,” praising Leslie “brings a unique South African influence to ‘Little Drummer Boy.’

‘The Christmas Album’ features a collection of beloved traditional favorites together with newly penned, original tracks that are sure to become instant holiday classics for years to come. Leslie reimagines timeless holiday hits including Last Christmas, O Holy Night, It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas as well as collaborations with Tony, Emmy, and Grammy Award-winner Cynthia Erivo and Broadway star, singer, actress, and Leslie’s wife, Nicolette Robinson.

Most recently, Leslie unveiled the music video for Heaven & Earth, an original track from ‘The Christmas Album’. The beautiful visual brings the song’s intimate lyrics to life as it follows along with footage from the day his daughter was born. Of the video, Leslie shares, “I remember feeling like the last thing I wanted was a camera in the delivery room. But I was wise enough to know that I was not the star of whatever show was to take place in that room. Now, I am so grateful Nic stuck to her guns.”

Yesterday, Leslie stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show to perform Last Christmas and will continue to usher in the holiday season through December with appearances and performances on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, TODAY Show, CBS This Morning, as well as the 22^nd Annual A Home for the Holidays, set to air Sunday, December 20 at 9:30pm ET / 9pm PT on CBS and CBS All Access.

Upon release, ‘The Christmas Album’ has garnered both fan and critical acclaim.
