BTS, recently premiered their highly anticipated dance challenge complitation video BTS Permission to Dance MV (Shorts Challenge ver.). Tanvi Karekar an Indian YouTuber who creates dance, fashion and lifestyle videos on YouTube, features in the special compilation music video. In her 21 second video, Tanvi, showcased various Indian dance forms to the beats of BTS, while transitioning into multiple regional outfits.
The three-week #PermissiontoDance Challenge, saw BTS encouraging people to make 15 second YouTube Shorts videos incorporating the “International Sign” gestures for “Joy,” “Dance,” and “Peace,” that were featured in the Permission to Dance music video, remixed with their own style. The compilation video also features music legend Sir Elton John.
In another music the band joined Coldplay frontman Chris Martin to talk about what inspired the #PermissiontoDance Challenge on YouTube Shorts in a special episode ‘Released’ on their Official YouTube Channel which also featured a selection of Shorts from the challenge created by people around the world including the U.S., India, Russia, South Korea, the United Kingdom and more.
The premiere of the song capped off the Permission to Dance Challenge which began on 23rd July and encouraged fans around the world to create their own 15-second version of the dance moves showcased in BTS’ official music fideo for the #1 track.
The three-week #PermissiontoDance Challenge successfully connected communities worldwide, from South Korea, to the United States, to Russia, the United Kingdom, India and beyond. As promised, BTS’ ‘Permission to Dance’ MV (Shorts Challenge ver.) showcases many of the incredible challenge submissions, further demonstrating the power that music and dance have to bring people together. The space themed video also includes a thank you from BTS to the participants, so be sure to watch to the end.
