Bulli Bainbridge releases debut album ‘Seasons’ with a host of collaborators

The much anticipated debut album of Bulli Bainbridge is all set to release on 13th January 2023. The album titled “Seasons," comes out after the successful release of the two singles Better Place ft. Shalmali Kholgade, and The Queen ft. Trichia Grace-Ann.

“Seasons” is Bulli Bainbridge’s debut album (after his EP release “Just This Once” in May 2017). Completely shifting gears from his earlier sound, “Seasons” is a highly collaborative eight-track record written in lockdown through 2021 underscoring the harder existential questions we invariably asked ourselves, situations we found ourselves in, and mental health. These include the feelings of numbness, self-doubt, grief, anger, and even triumph. Drawing influences from R&B, rap, and orchestral music, each track features a different collaborator creating a wide mood and sonic palate.

The first two singles have already been included on a number of editorial playlists on Apple Music, Wynk and Spotify, played on national radio stations including BIG FM and Radio One and the music video has garnered over 10,000 views on YouTube.

The collaborators include Shalmali (Kholgade), Trichia Grace-Ann, Bobkat (Bombay Bassment), nushious (Second Sight), Ankit Dayal, Siddharth Basrur, Adey (Nigerian Afrobeats producer who has created beats forartists like Ycee and Dremo), and a remix by Bombay Dub Orchestra.

The album will be released on the London based Bohemia Junction Recording Co. imprint with global distribution via ‘The Orchard.’

Zain Calcuttawala (Bulli Bainbridge), based in Mumbai, began his career as an artist manager and gig programmer at Blue Frog and OML working closely with artists like ‘Megadeth,’ ‘Nitin Sawhney,’ ‘Imogen Heap,’ ‘T-Pain’ and many others. Now a music producer & sound engineer since 2014, Zain composes his own music, and produces and engineers independent musicians such as ‘Second Sight,’ ‘Bhrigu Sahni,’ ‘Raghav Meattle’ and others. Zain also creates music for ads, mobile games and short films. He also founded India’s first mental health awareness podcast, “Marbles Lost & Found,” which has received praise in press such as Vogue Magazine and The BBC Cultural Frontline.
