13th January, 2015 Jennifer Lopez makes heads turn at 72nd Golden Globes awards ceremony.
The four biggest acting nods for Motion pictures went to Michael Keaton ("Birdman"), Eddie Redmayne ("The Theory of Everything"), Julianne Moore ("Still Alice") and Patricia Arquette ("Boyhood"). Meanwhile, "The Grand Budapest Hotel" took home top honors for best comedy and "Boyhood" won best drama.
On the TV side, "The Affair" won best drama and "Transparent" was honored as best comedy. Acting honors in the drama categories went Ruth Wilson for "The Affair" and Kevin Spacey for "House of Cards," while Gina Rodriguez was recognized for her role in the comedy "Jane the Virgin" and Jeffrey Tambor won for his role in "Transparent."
Jennifer Lopez started turning heads at the Golden Globes (and on Twitter) the second she stepped onto the red carpet. Alongwith presenter Jeremy Renner she called attention to some different … attributes while the pair presented the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a TV miniseries or movie. "I've got the nails," Lopez said while the duo stood at the podium. "You've got the globes, too," Renner quipped, referencing Lopez's cleavage-baring look. After they announced Billy Bob Thornton as the winner, Lopez playfully slapped Renner with the envelope. We're sure he meant it as a compliment.
With Tim Burton’s ‘Big Eyes’ successfully releasing in India last Friday, with 4 star reviews and great word of mouth, ‘Big Eyes’ has another feather in its cap!, Amy Adams winning Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.
In the film directed by the legendary Tim Burton, Amy Adams plays the true life, American artist Margaret Keane, whose husband (Christoph Waltz) stole the credit for her artwork. Adams won the award beating a star studded line up of power actresses like, Julianne Moore, ("Maps to the Stars"), Emily Blunt ("Into the Woods"), Helen Mirren ("The Hundred Foot Journey") and Quvenzhane Wallis ("Annie") for the honor. This is her second Golden Globe award and sixth Golden Globe nomination.
During her strongly feminist, impromptuacceptance speech, Adams thanked all the inspiring women at The Golden Globes. The actress said, “It’s just so wonderful that women today have such a strong voice. And, I have a four and a half year old and I’m so grateful to have all the women in this room, you speak to her so loudly. She watches everything and she sees everything. And I’m just so grateful for all of you women who have such a lovely beautiful voice…Thank you so much.”
‘Big Eyes’ is currently playing in select theatres across India.
