India’s much loved proficient music maker and connoisseur, Nikhil Chinapa along with his long standing partner Hermit Sethi of Submerge are bringing to Mumbai yet another mind-blowing concept on the 8th of April. What’s more? Ultra will be making its presence felt in India for the very first time and will give every dance music fan an unforgettable memoir.
Grammy nominated producer, Nic Fanciulli will embark on a ground-breaking Around The World Tour, a global sprint that will see him playing across multiple continents over a period of just 10 days this spring. In a landmark step for dance music scene in India, India’s leading and largest music promoters, Submerge have partnered with the world's largest independent music festival brand, Ultra Worldwide to bring to Indian shores a first-of-its-kind initiative - The Resistance: Around The World Tour With Nic Fanciulli
Hermit Sethi, Director, Submerge states, “Submerge has championed quality music for more than a decade now and we have been the backbone of the dance music revolution in India by hosting breakthrough acts of the likes of One Last Tour with Swedish House Mafia, Above & Beyond’s Trance Around The World, A State Of Trance with Armin van Buuren. Around The World is a series of worldwide events that aim to bring the electronic music community closer through a shared experience narrative. Nic will travel with a camera crew to document the entire trip and broadcast the events live through dedicated social media and online streaming outlets. Through this epic association, Submerge will explore the idea of global community to bring audiences closer together by venturing into dance music’s past, present and future.”
The tour will align itself with the Resistance brand, which is the global festival brand's new stage that focuses on underground music and encourages enthusiasts at music festivals to experiment away from the main stage. The Resistance brand is being introduced to Ultra Music Festival this year in a bid to allow festival goers to experiment with their sounds and interests, and go a little deeper or harder into the dance scene. A concept that urges fans to go against the grain, to step outside of the box and challenge themselves.
Nic Fanciulli states, "I’ve been lucky enough to visit some amazing countries and cities throughout my career and all this travel reminds you just how small the world really is, and how massive the dance music community has become over the years. The concept behind the tour is to connect the dots between different cities and audiences around the world, through music as a common denominator. We’re going to be visiting a different country every day, and I really wanted to explore some new places as well as revisit some of my old friends and favourite cities. The tour has taken around a year to put together, and I’m really happy that Ultra Worldwide and Resistance came on board as our partners - the guys are really pushing something special with the new Resistance brand, and I’m excited to be a part of it. For those that can’t make the actual shows, we’ll be working closely with B@TV to bring you as much audio and video footage from the tour to create a shared experience worldwide"
Nic will play a run of eight shows across multiple cities and continents. Kicking off on April 2nd at Toronto, and finishing on April 11th at Manchester, the ‘Around The World’ tour will stop off at the likes of Tokyo, Madrid, San Francisco, Manila, Dubai, Madrid and Mumbai, taking in a range of continents and letting the Resistance sound flow. A testament to his hardworking ethos and desire to push boundaries, Nic’s Around The World tour represents one of the most exciting challenges of his career, visiting a new country day-by-day.
The announcement of the tour comes after a stellar 2014 that saw Nic launch his own La Familia residency at Ushuaïa Ibiza alongside compatriot Joris Voorn, bring about the return of his own festival, The Social, for a second year and celebrate a landmark 100 releases on his Saved Records imprint - all whilst maintaining a tour diary of over 120 gigs worldwide - it’s hard to comprehend a busier 2015 for the Grammy-nominated producer.
One of UK’s finest imports in the world of dance music, Nic Fanciulli has achieved the status of a legend through his unique brand of house and techno and with his own imprint Saved Records, he has time and again given a chance to upcoming producers, while still churning out releases from some of the biggest names in the dance music scene today. During a career that has spanned over two decades, Nic has built long standing relationships and bonds with countries, parties and people and thus has mapped a journey that allows him to play alongside people that are special to him - as well as touchdown in territories that have remained relatively untouched on his usual gig circuit.
Without a doubt, this gig could be one of the highlights of dance music in India and definitely shouldn’t be missed out on.
