The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival’s Do Lab stage has announced the addition of the Los Angeles based B.R.E.E.D to the elite list of leading musicians from all over the world. One of the most iconic events on the world music calendar, the festival spanning across two weekends in April in Indio, California, will see the duo playing on the Do Lab stage on the first weekend starting 10th April 2015.
Following their continuous climb to the top in the past eight years across India and globally, the duo consisting of Ritesh D’Souza, one of Asia’s most influential and original underground electronic DJ-producers & bass music pioneer of India, and Tara Mae, a classically-trained pianist and vocalist launched their first album ‘Binate’ in 2014 which sat at the No. 1 spot on the top Addictech album releases and was No. 3 on the top 5 Glitch Hop album releases on Beatport in January 2014.
Speaking about the announcement the duo said, “"We are super excited to be playing for such a big and established festival this year mostly because it's one of the biggest opportunities we have had so far to be able to showcase our music in front of such a large audience, some of those who may be hearing our music for the first time. We are so grateful to have come this far in our journey and to be able to play in front of so many diverse people alongside some of the world's most amazing international artists is really a wonderful feeling. We'll be showcasing most of our music from our last EP, "The Inside" along with some of our new unreleased stuff, and we will also be performing a live set, with live keys which we are super stoked about.”
Other prominent artists on this year’s line-up include the likes of David Guetta, Jon Hopkins, Alesso, Axwell Ingrosso, Cashmere Cat, Chet Faker, FKA Twigs, Flying Lotus, Kimbra, Odesza, Kaytranada and What So Not to name a few.
Indian-bred B.R.E.E.D is part of a pioneering generation of path-breaking DJs and producers who are persistently challenging the evolution of today’s EDM forms in India and across the world. One of the busiest acts in the country, B.R.E.E.D has performed alongside a variety of international artists including Major Lazer, Dillon Francis, Jon Hopkins, Alesso, Howie B, Opiou, FreQ Nasty, Albin Meyers, Steve Duda, Caspa, Foreign Beggars, Cold Cut, and Gaudi and have collaborated with and remixed the likes of Sizzla, Calvertron, Will Bailey, Stephan Jacobs, Trowa, Dirt Monkey and many more.
Crossing oceans and miles of territory to get where they are today, the future bass electronic duo, B.R.E.E.D has found a new home in Los Angeles. Cranking out ‘Binate’ early in 2014 on Muti Music, the ingenious duo are now reaching out to audiences across the globe more than ever before. Until recently, B.R.E.E.D had only been performing as a solo DJ set, but they will now be showcasing some of their live sets as well, featuring live keys, vocals and turntablism. And they have nothing less than pure energy on stage together. They’ve seen releases and several chart toppers on labels like Play Me Records, Simplify Recordings, Ministry of Sound, Top Billin, Jack Knife Records, Foreign Familiar, and High Chai Recordings, while their latest album ‘Binate’ released on Muti Music. ‘Binate’ was supported and reviewed by entities like Rolling Stone, VH1 and EDM.com amongst others. Their latest EP, ‘The Inside’ released in November 2014, an EP which truly exhibits the new compositions and forward-pushing sounds they have been working hard on in the studio. With the duo’s innovative sampling and vocals, exotic instrumentation and orchestrated bass, B.R.E.E.D’s influence has been strong wherever they’ve dropped their beats, and they will only continue to expand their influence with each release they have and every crowd they infiltrate.
