Actor Nagma launches music album Hari Darshan Ki Pyaasi

Shrutinaad, a non-profit cultural organization working from Guwahati and Mumbai organized the launch of the devotional Audio Album ‘HARI DARSHAN KI PYAASI’ in Mumbai. The album was launched by Actor, Social & Political worker & Member, AICC Nagma and Music Director Kaushal Inamdar.

Hari Darshan Ki Pyaasi an audio album is a collection of bhajans rendered by renowned Hindustani Classical Vocalist Ragini Chakravarty of the Kirana Gharana. The album is based on compositions by Late Vivekanand Bhattacharyya and the music is arranged by Sudhir Nayak. The album is a compilation of 8 traditional Bhajans of Brahmanand, Meera, Nanak and Surdas. The album is dedicated to Ragini Chakravarty’s father Tabla Maestro-Composer-Music Director-Singer of Assam Late Vivekanand Bhattacharyya who has composed seven of the Bhajans featured in the album. One Bhajan on traditional Ram Naam is composed by Ragini herself.

The launch also witnessed a Hindustani Classical performance by Ragini Chakravarty and Devotional Music concert by Pranati Mhatre.

About Shrutinaad

Shrutinaad is a musical non-profit organization of Assam that has been organizing various programs of workshops, cultural shows and music competitions since 2003 and aims at promoting music and culture of Assam on a larger scale

The organisation have been focusing on preservation and propagation of the immortal songs (over 200) of Bauli Kavi Kamalananda Bhattacharyya (1896-1951), a poet-composer-author-playwright-actor-freedom fighter of Assam and the musical contribution of Sangeet Jyoti Bibekananda Bhattacharyya (1930-2007), renowned tabla player and composer-music director of the North East. Since 2008 the organisation have been organizing their classical music show ‘Prashanti’ in fond memory of Sangeet Jyoti Bibekananda Bhattacharyya and an All Assam Kamalananda Songs Competition annually since 2009 in Guwahati.

Geet Se Sangeet Tak…A Musical Journeyorganized by Shrutinaad at Karnataka Sangha Mumbai on Jan 30, 2011 celebrated the concept of crossing language barriers starting with Hindustani classical recital in a particular Raga and then presenting identical Raga based songs in Hindi, Marathi, Bengali and Assamese with huge success.
