Superstar Taylor Swift she swept the Billboard Music Awards 2015 by picking up a staggering Eight awards, including Top Artist, Top Female Artist and Top Billboard 200 Album for her record ‘1989’.

Picking up the Chart Achievement Award at the MGM Grand, she said: "I wanna shout out of course to Iggy [Azalea] and Meghan [Trainor] because they're amazing, I'm just happy to be in the same category." She then added: "This is such a good night. What EVEN!"

Swift thanked “all the girls I talk to on the Internet and we talk about your feelings and you teach me your teen slang,” during her speech for Top Female Artist, and told her fans that she was “obsessed” with them: “You guys are the reason this year has happened the way that it’s happened,” she said.

Taylor Swift, who debuted her highly anticipated ‘Bad Blood’ music video, featuring the likes of Cindy Crawford, Kendrick Lamar and Lena Dunham during the broadcast, was the favorite at the awards.

British stars One Direction and Sam Smith were also named among the winners, although Sam who was nominated for Top Male Artist and Best New Artist, was unable to make it after having throat surgery and flying back to the UK.

The BMA’s kicked off on Sunday night, with Ludacris returning to co-host along with Chrissy Teigen at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

It was also a good year for Iggy Azalea, Pharrell Williams and Sam Smith, who each won three awards, while One Direction, Hozier, Jason Aldean, Enrique Iglesias and John Legend, took home two. Scottish EDM artist Calvin Harris also picked up the award for top dance/electronic artist. Meghan Trainor's speech was also one of the most memorable of the night after she picked up the gong for Top Hot 100 Song for her hit track ‘All About That Bass’.

The awards that were aired live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and which presented awards across all genres. also saw a host of country categories including Top Country Artist, Top Country Album, Top Country Song and more, with some of country music’s favorite stars took home top awards at the event.

The Billboard Music Awards once again delivered eye-popping red carpet moments, explosive performances and awkward podium moments.
