Playback singer Tochi Raina famous for his superhit Kabira from the movie Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, performed his first ever concert with Band of Bandagi at a concert which took place on 11th June at St. Andrews Auditorium, Bandra, Mumbai
Raina and his with Band of Bandagi gave a scintillating performance with a lineup of 10 musicians. The evening was a treat to music lovers as Tochi enthralled the audience with his own sufi compositions as well as his Bollywood chartbusters. Tochi Raina, known for a number of Bollywood chartbusters including Kabira (Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani), Saibo (Shor In The City), O Pardesi (Dev D), Iktara (Wake Up Sid), Aali Re (No One Killed Jessica), Gal Mitthi Mitthi Bol (Aisha), Bulle Shah (A Wednesday) and many more, originally belongs to Patiala in Punjab but did his education in Nepal where his father was posted. He could closely relate with the earthquake victims as his friends and relatives still stay in Nepal. To pay tribute to all souls and survivors of Nepal Earthquake, Tochi had made a video called "Rooh Kambdi" which was then brought down as a concert.
The earthquake that shook Nepal six weeks ago equally shook the entire world. It was the worst natural disaster to strike Nepal that killed thousands of people and rendered even more number of people homeless. To help Nepal earthquake victims, aid has arrived from all corners of the world through govt. as well as non-govt. organizations, relief organizations, online relief initiatives and fund-raising & donations.
In this time of distress, Thinkerz and SMMARDS(Sanman Mahila Multipurpose and Rural Development Society) came together to extend their support for the earthquake victims by means of Rooh Kambdi, the fund raising concert by singer par excellence Tochi Raina.
The dignitaries present at the event included actor Ali Fazal, who is an active member and youth icon of SMMARDS, Model and actor Ishika Sarkar, actor Kushal Punjabi, Singer Anup Jalota, Singer Ram G. Gulathi, MLA Abu Azmi, MLA Waris Pathan among many others.
All funds collected from the concert will be sent to Nepal under the supervision Ms. Babita Verma, President - SMMARDS (NGO) to make sure the aid reaches the needy.
