The album has various hues and emotions conveyed in the voice of Anurag Sharma , which range from youthful romance to pain of longing and separation , shades of mild intoxication to the continuity of ever changing times.
The album also contains a Nazm which is a Tribute to Legends which are no more with us. The Tribute is unique, as, it is an attempt to convey the feelings of these legends to the people who remember and love them. It highlights the futility of death, as, the voice of the singer reverberates in hearts of listener and the legend stays alive even after death.
Apart from new poetry which is simple, yet has depth, varied emotions, a new, fresh voice, what adds to the novelty of the content is the music arrangement . The album uses technology but also retains the soul through usage of acoustic instruments like Sitar, Flute, Sarangi and Rabab.
Overall a treat for all listeners who love poetry and melody.
About the Artist : The singing journey of Anurag Sharma began at a tender age of four, 37 years back, when he enthralled a crowd of 1000 people by singing some filmy melodies. His talent was further nurtured under the tutelage of Late Ustad Jameel Ahmed Khan Saheb, from whom Anurag received rigorous Training in Hindustani Classical Singing for the next 12 years. While completing his engineering from IIT Roorkee, Anurag was also singing ghazals for All India Radio Delhi, in the mid nineties. The first major recognition came in 2000-01 when Anurag won the prestigious Saregama Contest of Zee Network and was adjudged Winner by stalwarts like Late Shri OP Nayyar, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Dr. L Subramaniaum, Begum Abida Parveen and Pt Ajoy Chakroborty. After shifting to Mumbai in 2002, Anurag got encouragement from Shri Anup Jalota. In the year 2004 he sang in the festival of Ghazals Khazana organized by Shri Pankaj Udhas. In the following years Anurag shared stage with ghazal stalwarts like Hariharan & Ghulam Ali. In the year 2005 Anurag also got the blessings of the Legend Late Mehdi Hassan Khan Saheb.
But the biggest endorsement for his talent came in the year 2010 when Late Shri of Jagjit Singh – The King of Ghazals agreed to share stage with Anurag in a Concert held in Shanmukhananda Auditorium.
The debut album is a new beginning for Anurag and also a culmination of the blessings of so many singing legends who appreciated his talent and his own hard work and dedication of almost more than 30 years. From year 2000 to 2012 was very active from a creative perspective, as he created a repertoire of almost 500+ compositions comprising of Ghazals , Bhajans and Classical. Naye Manzar has 8 ghazals out of this rich collection.
Ghazals for Love, Peace and Green :
Peace : In changing times when boundaries between music and noise are blurring Naye Manzar is an attempt to quench the thirst of listeners who are looking for some peace , solace and relaxation through the magic of voice, melody and poetry.
Love : The word Ghazal itself means talking to your beloved and hence it is synonymous with love. Naye Manzar is also a message of Love for all it’s listeners.
Green : The green initiatives these days are centred around the external ecosystem. But if we think closely, there is an ecosystem within each human being also, which is getting affected. The fast paced life of metros, chimera of modern day competitive pressures, disillusionment with the political establishments, improved longevity but with higher risk to life, crime against women and the weaker sections of society, ups and downs of global economic orders, corruption etc. are all polluting the environment within us, by creating a noise of different magnitude altogether.
Naye Manzar attempts to bring respite from this noise. Hence, Naye Manzar is a green product in this unique perspective, as it offers a panacea, in form of simple, yet meaningful poetry, embellished with soulful melodic arrangement, delivered in a deep and soothing voice of Anurag Sharma.
