Teen rapper ‘Silento’ has become a YouTube sensation with his newest video ‘Watch Me(Whip / Nae Nae)’. With his insanely catchy single, the rapper has the nation grooving to his beats. The track, which is currently No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 has netizens all across the globe trying to emulate the steps in the video.

Silentó combined viral dance sensations the “nae nae,” the “whip,” the “stanky leg,” the “break your legs,” and the “bop” and stirred them into his own mega-hot anthem and dance craze. Taking that inspiration, “Watch Me” has become genuinely inescapable. The audio - only video is quickly closing in on 35 million-plus YouTube views, while countless fan and celebrity-generated videos pop up daily on Vine and Instagram totaling nearly 100 million views.

Taking the internet by storm, the video has led to an ‘epidemic of viral fever’ wherein fans have been posting their own quirky versions of the  whip. The Parking lot Whip, the pool party whip, the cop whip, the mid graduation whip, the grandma whip and the dog whip have been among some of the highest scoring whips.

The video is vaulting to the top of charts with the dance moves featuring in it. The dance craze has also bombarded social media as youngsters and millennials alike have been promoting it with great gusto.

Silento unleashed ‘Watch Me’ after he felt that he didn’t receive enough support from the people in his hometown post performing at a talent hunt in school. Thwarted after losing the competition, the internet sensation decided to show everyone how his talent could be a game changer and he believes that ‘Watch Me’ has given him the perfect start.

The upstart however believes in bringing a wave of change to the hip hop scene in the world. It is his way of inspiring people to come together and celebrate the fervor associated with dance.

The song has also officially been certified gold under the RIAA's Digital Singles program. The internet star also performed his hit during the 2015 BET Awards. Silento has also recently signed his first deal with Capital Records carrying the distinction of being a recording artist with a leading music label.
