20th July, 2015The new age social mobile platform #velfie has found another star performer hooked to its immersive and interactive user experience in Bollywood rapper Badshah. The hip-hop star, who is one of the biggest names in the music industry at present, used the app to promote his latest single “DJ waley Babu”. In the eight second clip, Badshah can be seen lip syncing to the song from his upcoming music album ONE.
Badshah who recently signed up with global music giant Sony Music, has been the toast of Bollywood, having dished out popular party hits such as “Abhitoh Party ShuruHui Hai” and “Saturday Saturday” that had the entire nation grooving to their beats. He has already won a huge fan following amongst youngsters with his chart busting music sensibilities through songs like ‘Proper Patola’. His latest track DJ wale Babu is a desi, peppy dance number that promises to become the next party anthem.
Badshah has also announced a contest on his social media where he is inviting his fans to share a Velfie on his new song and the best 5 would get a chance to meet BADSHAH himself. Badshah, a tech fanatic himself, in his exclusive interview said, “I am super-excited for the Velfie campaign, and support this association with all my heart, specially Velfie being a Desi App with a great interface. Fans are going to be having a lot of fun creating these Velfies because the song is naughty and earthy at the same time.”
Available on Android and iOS platforms, Velfie allows users to post personalised video content to provide an off-hand, entertaining way of social media interaction. The trend of using Velfie videos as a platform to interact with one’s social circle has been gaining popularity with the masses, particularly celebrities. Badshah’s Velfie video closely follows Indian acting legend AnupamKher’s recent video tribute to Marlon Brando. Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh Velfie video tributes to Indian PM NarendraModi and actor Amitabh Bachchan have also been a rage in social media, garnering over 50 thousand views on Facebook alone.
In a recent survey, Badshah took over Yo Yo Honey Singh in a recently conducted survey. Badshah’s song Saturday Saturday, Abhitoh party shuru hue hai races ahead of all 2015 party tracks. Cool, hip-hop with a catchy tune is what rapper Badshah’s new song “DJ WaleyBabu” is all about. Known as the party song creator, Badshah’s music has now become synonymous with a must have song in Bollywood films.
Karan Johar who is known for great music in his films clearly loves the rappers sound as for the second time in his song, Chull, will be in a Dharma film. The earlier one being Saturday Saturday.
The video of DJ Waley Babu features the stunning model-actress Natasa Stankovic, who is known for her stint at Bigg Boss 8.
