Armaan Mallik to lend his voice for Lost Stories to play at EDM festival Tomorrowland

It has rightly been said that age is merely a number in one's mind. A number that seldom has bearing on what one can accomplish. Armaan Malik is one such individual who lends immense credence to that reality. All of 19 years of age, this precociously gifted musician is all set to take the Bollywood playback singing industry by storm! This young artist whose signed up some great work in the coming months while being managed by one of India’s largest music label’s T Series. The multi-talented artist has not only done the vocals for this track but has also composed it.

Formed six years ago, Lost Stories- the EDM duo from Mumbai, India, have set their sights on international success .They've been at the forefront of India's EDM and clubbing revolution, catching the attention of major labels and the all-conquering Tiësto. They're now taking their first steps out of India with a big European tour and a prominent prestigious  rave-up- Tomorrowland.

Further to Armaan's Non-Film music career, he always wanted to delve even further in his endeavor to reach the world through his music. This opportunity knocked his door when Lost Stories decided to collaborate with Armaan Mallik. Adding to it Prayag Mehta, Lost Stories stated "We've seen him performing live before and have heard his work at numerous occasions, but what caught our ear was a recording he had done which a mutual friend of ours made us hear. We loved the vocals and spontaneously setup a meeting. It was great to see how like minded we were and that we both wanted the same thing, taking homegrown talent to the Global Dance Music scene!"

Armaan says "I am really excited about this collaboration with Lost Stories. They are one of the best EDM artistes we have here in India and their sound is so unique and thrilling! I've always wanted to work on a track with them since a long time. But you know as they say - 'There is a right time for everything to happen’. This phrase is a testament to this very collaboration of ours together called Piya, which will launch at the TomorrowLand Stage in Belgium! I can't wait for the world to hear this unique and mesmerizing fusion of a Folkish -Indian Composition with an EDM arrangement backing it up"

So how did this  collaboration happen? When the news took the country by storm, Lost Stories were playing a set at the upcoming prestigious EDM Festival Tomorrowland at Belgium. Soon the search commenced looking for new voices. Armaan Mallik and Prayag Mehta from Lost Stories immediately connected discussing possibilities of a collaboration and both the artistes were equally gunned about the whole thing. Prayag Mehta from Lost Stories had previously discussed with Armaan that the European audiences were really receptive to authentic Indian melodies and phrase. Armaan wasted no more time and straight went ahead to write the lyrics for the song which ultimately got titled Piya

A certain Chord Progression composed by Armaan Malik on the piano really caught Prayag Mehta's attention, which they feel can get the crowd moving at Tomorrowland . And then right there PIYA was born ! Armaan immediately recorded the vocal parts and alaaps to further master the track.  "Armaan is one of the most versatile and creative artists we've worked with and we can't wait to introduce him to the EDM Community and show them what this power packed collab has in store! This collaboration is a perfect blend of classical Indian music and trademark Lost Stories electronic sound" says Prayag Mehta.

Lost Stories & Armaan Malik both respect their roots of being Indian and wanted to keep the vocals more towards the classical folk side. Little did they know that Piya (new song with Armaan's vocal) would be as magical as it sounds. Keeping our fingers are crossed as they are set to unveil it to the World really soon!

It's amazing how precious things like these can happen in such a short span of time. Lost Stories and Armaan Malik are also very keen to release this song internationally post Tomorrowland. So here's looking forward to yet another kick-ass Hindi-EDM fusion collaboration in the making.
