Sangita Jindal, Chairperson, JSW Foundation hosted the book launch of ‘Baat Niklegi Toh Phir’ – a book on the life and music of Jagjit Singh, as a tribute to the late legendary ghazal maestro, authored by Sathya Saran. Stalwarts from the film industry and music fraternity congregated to share their personal experiences and anecdotes with the legendry singer. Late Jagjit Singh was remembered for his incomparable contribution to the music fraternity and for popularly being known for his generosity and kindness.
Driven by her passion and love towards music, Ms. Sangita Jindal and JSW Foundation together conceptualized the idea of releasing the book on late Jagjit Singh immaculately written by well known author Sathya Saran. The book, which was released by renowned film director Mahesh Bhatt, seamlessly knits together bits and pieces of the inspiring life of ‘King of Ghazals’, bringing out the fact that Jagjit Singh not only exuberated power of voice through his music but also the power of soul with his liberality.
Theater perfectionist and Bollywood star, Rajit Kapur enthralled the audience by reading out few lines from the book. Popular ghazal singer Talat Aziz rendered some of Jagjit Singh’s ever green classic ghazals churning out a soulful and mesmerized environment. Also present at the event was Jagjit Singh’s wife Chitra Singh, his close friend Subhash Ghai and the author of the book Sathya Saran.
The book gives insights on some beautiful moments in Jagjitji’s life and his incredible journey through the world of music along with his association with some of the most important personalities in film and music industry. The book promises to make a mark on the readers and makes for an excellent keepsake.
