EVENT: Iron Maiden Album Listen feat. Devoid & Friends
PERFORMING ARTISTS: Devoid
GENRE: Rock
ABOUT Iron Maiden Album Listen feat. Devoid & Friends
Formed in a decade when heavy metal was still in its infant stages in India, Devoid has grown to become veteran death/thrash metallers representing a genre which was long under represented in the country.
Formed in 2005, the band then comprised of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Arun Iyer, drummer Shubham Kumar and the lead guitarist Keshav Kumar. The three member group would meet Frank Pawar in 2006, which would be the line up for the larger part of the bands career. The band called ample attention on to itself by winning Campus Rock Idols which was one of the biggest competitions for rock and metal bands at that point in time, with in the first year of being together. With the fan base steadily increasing Devoid started touring with several indigenous acts in the scene like Demonic Resurrection, Bhayanak Maut, Myndsnare, Kryptos, Brute Force, Infernal Wrath etc. playing cities Pune, Hyderabad, Delhi, Shillong and home ground- Bombay. It wasn’t too long before the band moved from opening slots to headlining slots.
In 2010, Devoid reached one of its biggest and most crucial milestones in the band’s career when they released their debut ‘A God’s Lie’ through Demonstealer Records. The band toured Bangalore, Mumbai and Pune along side death/thrash metal troupers Nervecell from UAE. In the years to follow Devoid went on to share the stage with Cradle of Filth, Decapitated and Sybreed when the bands toured India. The band received rave reviews for the album all across, with one reviewer who went as far as to say that “A God’s Lie is a thrash metal fan’s wet dream come true”.

EVENT: VH1 Supersonic Club Nights feat. John Dahlback
PERFORMING ARTISTS: John Dahlback, Zaeden
GENRE: House
ABOUT John Dahlback
Label owner, producer, remixer and DJ: there isn’t much John Dahlback hasn’t done during his decade-young career. Now, at just 28, he sits atop the global dance scene with a forthcoming album on one of the world’s leading (and largest) electronic labels Ultra and a diary that defines the term transatlantic as he jets back and forth between America, Ibiza and beyond. Rewind just on eleven years and we find John at the start of his professional journey, signing his first releases at the tender age of 17, which even by the youthfully dominated standards of the world of dance, is remarkable.
Whether it was deep house and techno for legendary imprints like Kompakt or Dessous, through to the later expansion of his style to incorporate the energy of big-room electro for the likes of Spinnin’, Protocol, Toolroom, Big Beat, Phazing and Wall there are few - if any - who can boast such a varied and impressive musical CV. However, what makes this achievement even more historic is that he also found time to establish and develop not one, but two labels all of his own.

EVENT: theatre@theFROG ft. I LOVE YOU, LET'S HAVE SEX
CAST: Ashish Paliwal,Shena Gamat, Shivam Pradhan, Pravan Brara
GENRE: Theatre
ABOUT theatre@theFROG ft. I LOVE YOU, LET'S HAVE SEX
A BAREFOOT! Production, I LOVE YOU, LET’S HAVE SEX is an interactive theatre piece, devised and performed by two actors. Humourous and quick-paced, the play offers insights into how relationships work and changes we can make as individuals to help find connection and empathy with each other.
Recognizing the universality of the content, the actors find ways in which to interact with the audience directly – leading to improvised audience involvement, some real ‘aha’ moments and more than a little madness!
The script twists and turns upon itself, deliberately blurring the lines between performer and audience. In other words, I Love You, Let’s Have Sex is a fun and enriching theatrical experience for anyone who has or ever will be in a relationship with another human being (you?).
The play opened at the Delhi Contemporary Arts Festival to hugely positive response and has since then been gaining a buzz in the Delhi theatre circuit. This performance marks the show’s debut in Mumbai.

In 2005, he introduced himself to production and started making music of his own. His first release saw him work with Pierre de La Touche and Arno Cost. Together, they created ‘The Freshmakers.’

Nikhil Chinapa:
To say that Nikhil Chinapa has donned many an avatar during his career, is like saying it snows in Alaska; a bit of an understatement. He morphs from DJ to VJ to MC to Music Promoter to Festival Director —some of his best known avatars — with amazing fluidity.
He studied Architecture and graduated with a Thesis in Hospital Design. A year later and for reasons that scientists are still trying to understand, Nikhil joined MTV. He said, "I think it'll be fun." For once, he was right. At MTV, Nikhil has hosted almost every show the channel has aired. From MTV Select - MTV's longest running show, (it aired continuously for 10 years) to being the host of Splitsvilla, a judge on Roadies as well as Rock On and now host of MTV Mashups.
As a popular VJ, Nikhil got to spend a lot of time around his first love, music. In 2001, a conversation between friends resulted in the launch of Submerge — India's first, and now largest Indian Electronic Dance Music (EDM) company in India. By now, Nikhil had begun to DJ professionally and plays, well... whatever he feels like. His sets are moody, varied, often erratic but usually fun. Most of his sets feature frantic foot-stomping and the random flailing of arms - sometimes by him. They also feature music - the kind that has a repetitive monotonous beat and is best enjoyed at dangerous decibel levels. Nikhil was also the co-founder of Sunburn. He is now the Festival Curator and partner of Vh1 Supersonic, Goa's brand new beach music festival.
