Niladri Kumar and Rashid Ali announce new single

A world-renowned, global icon to reckon with, 41 year old Sitar Maverick Maestro Niladri Kumar who is additionally celebrated as the inventor of the Zitar,  is launching a brand new single after his last music video ‘Priority’ which released in 2008 and Taj’s E-Baithak in 2014.

The critically acclaimed revolutionary will be seen collaborating with Bollywood playback singer and one of India’s finest guitarists Rashid Ali. Many are aware of Rashid Ali as a mainstream singer with commercial innings with films like Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Ek Deewana Tha and Raanjhanaa to his credit but only a few are aware that this talented singer has a prodigious Guitar side to him too.

Head To The Heart is a first of its kind edgy instrumental number that will feature Niladri Kumar on the Zitar in collaboration with Virtuoso Rashid Ali on the Acoustic Guitar. The single will mark the debut showcase of the seamless integration of an acoustic instrument with an electric one giving fans a sense of exhilaration. The video features both Niladri Kumar on his Zitar & Rashid Ali on his Acoustic Guitar. The video has been shot at Niladri Kumar’s brand new Upcoming All Day Diner ‘Zitar’ at Oshiwara Andheri, which is slated to open towards year-end.

Niladri Kumar states, “Our head and heart are never easily in dual agreement on most matters. The head is all about realism, technical understanding, and precision while the heart is all about passion, dreams, desires, fantasy. This track is inspired by the thought of what would it sound like if the Head & Heart were in conversation in a fast paced mind. This piece holds further meaning to life, where one should head to their core, their calling. This is for individuals who have risked taking the rocky road, moving out of their comfort zone and venturing into the unknown to achieve milestones that are unheard of. To follow your heart you need to tame your head. And to understand your heart you need to think deeper into what it’s saying. Hence, you need both to be in sync, calibrated with each other. This collaboration with Rashid Ali was exactly like that for me. Working with other musicians, allows me to explore and experiment with new types of music and melody. In this way, different music minds fuse together to complement each other and create a brand new sound. Besides the electric acoustic debut combination I chose to play Zitar on this track, as the Zitar for me is a symbol of following one’s passion, taking the risk to venture the road less traveled in spite of all obstacles. This track’s vision was that and hence I felt it would fit perfectly.”

This fast paced track is sure to set your pulse racing but will also leave you spellbound in an introspective trance. Niladri Kumar and Rashid Ali have stringed together a wonderful new creation that will create magic in this realm and transcend you from happiness to a thoughtful limbo and then sign off with eagerness and contentment.

Head To The Heart is the brainchild, conceived and created by Stanford University certified entrepreneur Samira Kelkar. The single has been produced by MiH Global & New York based company Maverik in association with Seven Friday the Zurich Watch based company as the style partner– True Gentlemen Keep Time. Directed and edited by Shrish Tomar Whistling Woods Alumnus and arranged and programmed by Arjun Nair, the voice behind Irrfan Khan &AIB’s Every Party Song this single started its musical journey with the original Riff being composed by Rashid Ali. Niladri Kumar has worked his magic on it making it come to life.

Niladri Kumar will be launching his new brand “STAY UP Rooted” .
