The Weeknd’s ‘Can’t feel my Face’ gets rave reviews in India

Earlier this year, the Canadian music sensation, The Weeknd released his superhit single Can’t Feel My Face, an up-tempo, catchy tune which raced its way up the Billboard charts peaking at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.  The song has a classic pop feel to it, with The Weeknd channeling a bit of Michael Jackson while crooning over the bouncy and energetic production from Max Martin. The album also holds the #2 position on the iTunes India overall ‘album’ chart’ and #5 on Shazam India Top 100.

The Canadian R&B star is seeing a huge spike in popularity in India as well as Can’t Feel My Face checks off the top of the music charts on streaming sites, music channels and radio. THE WEEKND’s third full-length offering, ‘Beauty Behind The Madness’ includes 14 tracks and feature appearances from Ed Sheeran, Lana Del Rey and Labrinth.

THE VMA’s, aired on Vh1; also saw a fantastic performance by The Weeknd as he performed "Can't Feel My Face". Jared Leto announced the performance in a flurry of fireworks and the foot-tapping showcase saw Kanye West get up and dance to the song.

Abel Tesfaye known by his stage name The Weeknd is a Canadian singer, songwriter and record producer. THE WEEKND recently achieved a Billboard first when he claimed the top three slots on the Billboard Hot R&B Songs as Can’t Feel My Face, The Hills and Earned It hit #1, #2 and #3 respectively.

2015 has been a breakout year for THE WEEKND, he is just the third artist to have two songs in the Top 10 of the Hot 100 simultaneously in 2015, and the first male. Only Taylor Swift and Meghan Trainor have previously held that honor this year. Currently, the album’s first official single Can’t Feel My Face sits at #2 while The Hills sits at #11 and Earned It (Fifty Shades of Grey)” sits at #30.

The Weeknd also recently hit #1 on the Artist 100 chart, a chart that blends data measuring album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.

The Weeknd also appeared on the soundtrack to ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’, contributing Devil May Cry and were also part of Sia huge hit, Elastic Heart, the second single from the soundtrack.
