22nd September, 2015After spending over two years in the studio working relentlessly on his next installment, international DJ/producer Bally Sagoo will be launching his 17th studio album titled “Café Punjab”.
The album pays a tribute to Sagoo’s homeland; Punjab by recreating the ethnic charm of the city. The sound is an exquisite blend of minimalistic world and lounge music showcasing his prowess over phenomenal 'sound' production. Having been part of the industry for over 2 decades now, the forerunner has re-invented his style to inculcate the new age contemporary sound without compromising on his most sought-after Indo-influenced dance and hip-hop fusion sound, securing his dominance in the global desi music scene.
The eclectic compilation will comprise of 8 trendy tracks featuring some new upcoming vocalists handpicked by Sagoo bringing a refreshing change to the conventional sound. From chill out music to rhythms tinged with modern chilled music influences, Café Punjab, comes back with a playlist at the cutting edge of down tempo warmly uplifting fusion of beats and featuring blissful instrumental sounds.
Speaking on the occasion, Bally Sagoo states, “This album is a dedication to my global fan community who continue to be a great source of inspiration for my music. I’ve worked very hard on this album, curating some great new voices and creating a brand new sound. The album is more like a personal reincarnation and it maps my spiritual evolution as an artist. I can’t be making the music I made 20 years back, as today the scene has changed and so has trends. Café Punjab has a more chilled out vibe with enchanting sounds and rich rhythmic influences. I want to shift focus to making more music in Bollywood and explore exciting collaborations with likeminded artists across the globe.”
Raised in Birmingham - UK, Sagoo was the brainchild behind Ishq Records and now Fresh Dope Records.He has created a mark for himself having worked alongside stalwarts like Michael Jackson, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Amitabh Bachchan and having produced music for commercial films like Bend It Like Beckham, Mistress Of Spice, Monsoon Wedding and It’s A Wonderful Afterlife. Bally Sagoo is the mastermind behind numerous platinum selling albums and one of the originals from the Asian underground scene that exploded in the early nineties. Fusing traditional flavors from the Indian subcontinent with elements of R&B, reggae and dance music, he attracts a wide yet very discerning audience.
