Labdiyaan, a song of events and feelings that one goes through one’s life, may be celebration, love and finding love, is now making its appearance in Canada. The debut Single by Malaa Treon has been sung by her. Malaa has also written and composed the music for Labdiyaan.

“The Punjabi celebration number (LABDIYAAN) talks about the desire of every girl to enjoy freedom yet find love. It is the journey from Finding Love to Found the Love,” says Malaa. “Being a Punjabi girl, my focus has been on the music that creates a happy feel....just like the drums and dhols of Punjab do! To relive those beats and sounds".
With this song, Malaa wants to reach all kinds of people and has designed the whole album to cater to all moods and age groups. Ayush Tandon of Life of Pi fame is featured in the video of the song.
“The journey has just begun and I am still designing it,” she says. “I was following a dream which turns into reality now and I need the world with me to carve this new path!”
The mixing, mastering and sound engineering of the song has been done by Ashish Manchanda, founder of Flying Carpet Productions and one of the best sound engineers in India, who has worked with renowned artists like Amit Trivedi, A. R Rehman, Vishal – Shekhar, Ram Sampath and with producers Bruce Swedien, Ranjit Barot, Rex Rideout, Leslie Lewis and Clinton Cerejo among many others.
About Malaa Treon:
Born in Africa, Malaa studied in Bangalore, New Delhi and London and pursued her art in Pune. Art with textures as her passion, Malaa began Art on Silk in Pune making a name for her in the art industry where she was applauded by artists, art fraternities and art galleries like Point of View in Mumbai, Kalakriti gallery in Hyderabad and others across India.
In 2004, while art was playing a major role in her life, she was recognized for her inherent talent for singing, and this encouraged her to pursue singing seriously. She has trained under Aruna Badodekar, granddaughter of Hirabai Badodekar a renowned artist of her time who was an expert in Khyal, Thumri, Marathi Natya Sangeet and Bhajan.
