If Sunburn and Supersonic offers you four days of music filled excitement, Asia’s longest beach festival Festa De Diu, beginning next month promises you 77 days of fun filled music days. The event announcement launch was formally unveiled amidst much pomp and grandeur at an event in the city. Present at the occasion were Mr Ashish Kundra, Administrator, UT of Daman, Diu, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Ms. Shubhra Bhardwaj, Founder & Creative Director, Ferriswheel Entertainment, child artiste Darsheel Safary and music producer Ankit Tiwari.

Designed to become the longest running beach festival, Festa De Diu shall comprise of various exciting elements like 60 luxury beach tents, spas, 5 star category restaurant, adventure sports and much more. An entire spectrum of 140 live events with over 300 artists have been planned over 77 days and noted artists like Kailasa band, Milind Soman, Indian Ocean, Hard Kaur, Neeraj Shridhar, Ankit Twewari, Benny Dayal, Darsheel Safary and many more have been confirmed to perform during the festival.  

Organised by the U.T. Administration of Daman & Diu; Government of India, Festa De Diu will be held from 1^st December 2015  to 15^th February 2016 in Diu. Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Ferriswheel Entertainment are the “Implementation Partners” for the same. All set to enthrall the masses from December 2015 to February 2016, this festival will have a unique format with different artists performing to different themes every week. It will simultaneously focus on jam sessions, concerts, literary and art programs, workshops, community outreach programs and carnival. The event will be inaugurated by Hon’ble President of India, Mr Pranab Mukherjee, on 1^st December in Diu.

Ashish Kundra, Administrator, UT of Daman, Diu, Dadra & Nagar Haveli stated, “Last year Diu attracted around 17 lakh tourists. Now, with this initiative, we are hoping to attract at least 35 lakh tourists this calender year. This festival is part of a national publicity campaign launched recently to promote Diu as a favoured tourist destination.”

Shubhra Bhardwaj, Founder and Creative Director, Ferriswheel Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., who recently also won the Best Director's Award at the Asian Arts Award in Edinburgh said, "With Diu International Festival, our aim is to put Diu on the world map as a global destination for culture and festivities.
