The 2015 edition of the happiest music festival – Bacardi NH7 Weekender -kicked off its fourth visit to the capital on 28th and 29th November. Thousands of music lovers from all over Delhi NCR and surrounding cities streamed in to the brand new venue at Sector 10 in Dwarka to catch some of the biggest Indian and international musical artists, including headlining performances by A. R. Rahman and Mark Ronson.
The first evening of the two-day festival saw an incredible lineup of musicians - from the captivating sounds of Dr. L. Subramaniam, V Selvaganesh and Noori, to the upbeat folk rock stylings of The Raghu Dixit Project, Neeraj Arya’s Kabir Cafe and Maati Baani, to sets from indie favourites Thumpers, The Clameens and The Map Room.
Indian music legend and one of the evening’s main acts A. R. Rahman re-created the magic of his greatest hits on stage, while the massive crowds joined in the chorus and chanted for more. Grammy Award-winning music producer Mark Ronson played some of his most popular tracks as part of his DJ set. Bass baron Nucleya had everyone jumping with music from his new album Bass Rani.
Day 2 had plenty to look forward to with the much-anticipated Ustad: A Tribute to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan curated and presented by Vishal Dadlani, Scottish post-rock favourites Mogwai, maverick producer Flying Lotus, Mexican acoustic guitar-playing duo Rodrigo y Gabriela, British electro-pop artist SBTRKT along with more Indian favourites like Advaita, Rehan Dalal, Parikrama, Soulmate, and Hriday Gattani.
The festival provided a wide array of delicious options at the Food Bazaar by Swiggy. The Maker’s Market by Engrave showcased a variety of creative products from artists, craftspeople and DIYers from across India. In addition to these, interactive concepts including the Stray Dog jamroom for aspiring musicians, Saavn’s recording studio, Jack & Jones’ human foosball game and their unique take on the game of Twister, and Roposo’s DIY t-shirt designs.

This year, over 150 artists will play at the Bacardi NH7 Weekender’s five editions – Shillong, Kolkata, Delhi, Pune and Bengaluru.
The happiest music festival now moves to its final two stops – Pune (December 4-6) and Bengaluru (December 5-6).
