Come December and thousands of music fans descend upon Goa, many of them making their way to a musical expereience of a lifetime! From the 27th to the 30th December, the quaint beach town of Candolim turns into the hottest international dance music capital in the world as Vh1 Supersonic 2015 opened its gates to revelers for the third year in a row!
The Box Office was seen buzzing with fans eager to get in to watch their favourite artists perform live. And why not? When the line-up screams of awesome names such as Disclosure, Adam Beyer, Zeds Dead, Addison Groove, Delhi Sultanate, Arjun Wagale, Breed and many more, how can music lovers resist the urge to party?
Day One began on a cool vibe as the Laboratoire Supersonique stage came alive with the unique stylings of Lasker. Soon, the iconic Iron Heart stage was pumping with DJ SA’s set and Spectrum bringing in the techno beats with Kohra. Artists such as Foreign Beggars, Ida Engberg and Tarqueeb injected a whole new dose of energy into the crowd. By sundown, Candolim was alive with thousands of heartbeats thumping in sync with the sound of music.
And as the sun set, Disclosure, Adam Beyer and Mala Pokes took to their respective stages, lovers of dance music were truly spoilt for choice.
While day one not only managed to impress in terms of the music and quality of artists performing at the festival, fans were also taken in by the interesting installations and brand engagements on the festival grounds. Be it Hungama’s whimsical triangular walkway which was lit up with a thousand lights in mason jars to EZone’s trippy 270 degree dome animation which had revelers gasping in awe, partygoers found a lot to explore and experience.
With its delightful theme‘You are Supersonic’ that focuses on putting the music fan at the center of everything, Vh1 Supersonic deliveredon its promise and how.
Day Two had names like BLOT!, Zedd, Don Diablo, Teddy Killers, Joris Vorrn, Nic Fanciuli, Dirtyphonics and others on the list. The sands of Candolim reverberated not just with the sonic boom of music but also with the chants of music lovers surrendering to the power of music. The day began at the stroke of one as Akshit Shetty VS Benz dueled it out on the Laboratoire Supersonic stage.
Also setting the stage on fire with their resounding crescendos were some of the biggest names from the international dance music circuit such as Sultan and Shepard a Canadian electronic music duo who collaborate in record production, songwriting, and remixing, who added a whole new level of awesomeness to the evening. However, it was one of the finest exports from UK’s thriving electronic music scene, Nic Fanciuli who sent the fans in a tizzy of dance infused madness. Setting the cogs of time in motion on the iconic steampunk Iron Heart stage were musical giants Don Diablo and Zedd who unleashed wave after wave of supersonic beats that mesmerized throngs of music lovers who couldn’t think of anything else but surrendering to the music.
Day Three saw artists such as Deorro, Paul Ritch, Culture Shock, Luigi Madonna, DJ Zinc and W&W who took to the stage in the late hours of the evening, while the night was awash with every colour on the spectrum and fireworks that lit up the sky…such was the allure of the event that even stars from the world of glamour couldn’t resist it and made a beeline for the event.
As the music began with Ryan Nogar VS Sid sharp at the stroke of one on the Laboratoire Supersonique stage, the magic makers at Live Viacom18 set to work creating a display of lights and graphics to reel audiences in. Mesmerizing the audiences through on Tuesday afternoon with their superlative musical powers were none other than maestros of their art, Bl@nk, Zaeden, Muxka Jar, Ox7gen, Tuhin Mehta, Dubvision and many more. And just as the sun started going lower on the horizon, the three stages Laboratoire Supersonique, Spectrum and the iconic steampunk centerpiece – The Iron Heart, were exploding with creative energy. Lovers of dance music were in for an evening of true magnificence as Pravvy Prav, Norman Doray and Joran Van Pol made some big noise on their respective stages.
Day Four which also was the last day of the festival came to a spectacular conclusion as world renowned masters of dance music Axwell, Grum and Netsky + MC Script struck the final beats for the festival on their respective stages, the iconic steampunk megalith ‘Iron Heart’, the bass experience ‘Laboratoire Supersonique’ and the techno kingdom ‘Spectrum’.
A fitting finale to a spectacular season, Vh1 Supersonic 2015 has clearly made a home for itself as the most beautiful dance music experiences ever in the hearts and minds of every one attending the event.
