Spectre, the latest Bond spectacle now on Home Video

One of the most expensive James Bond movies ‘Spectre’ (The 24th film in the franchise) is out on Blu-ray and DVD in India. Excel Home Videos in association with 20th Century Fox Entertainment has released the movie on home video.

More recently at the 88th Academy awards, Sam Smith’s ‘Spectre’ song Writing’s On the Wall won the best original song Oscar Sunday, upsetting Lady Gaga and songwriter Diane Warren’s anti-rape ballad Til It Happens To You from the documentary ‘The Hunting Ground’.

Writing’s On the Wall is the second Bond theme in a row to win the prize. Adele’s Skyfall title track won three years ago.

With 24 films till date (including ‘Spectre’), Bond movies are the longest running successful movie franchise. This is Daniel Craig’s first acting role in the last three years (last film was Skyfall).

Says M.N Kapasi, MD, Excel Home Videos, “Keeping in with Excel’s tradition of premium & high quality content; the DVD & Blu-Ray is loaded with special features. The latest installment of the one of the longest-running film franchises in history gives fans never-before shared insight into the complexities that made James Bond the man he is today. Plus both the Blu-ray and DVD have local dubs viz. Hindi, Tamil and Telugu in Dolby Digital 5.1 as options.”

‘Spectre’ dominated the worldwide box-office making it one of the most successful Bond movies ever, shattering records in nearly every market it was released, led by a historic performance in the UK. The movie did extremely well in Indian box-office ending as one of highest grossing Hollywood movies in 2015. It also holds a record for the highest opening weekend for a Bond film in India.

The special features on DVD include video blogs of Director Sam Mendes, Bond’s Supercars, introduction of Léa Seydoux and Monica Bellucci, action sequences, music and the Guinness World Record for the largest film stunt explosion in the history of cinema.
