The Red Bull Tour Bus began its north tour in style at Manipal University in Jaipur, as a crowd of over 3000 fans gathered to watch Kolkata-based punk rock band The Ganesh Talkies take the stage, followed by Delhi-based DJ/producer MojoJojo. Both acts delivered as promised, and the grounds echoed with the high-energy, dance-friendly sets that have come to be associated with The Ganesh Talkies, followed by MojoJojo’s bass-heavy set, for the perfect finish.
Opening proceedings for the night, The Ganesh Talkies set the tone perfectly with their sound that marries alt-rock, ska, pop and reggae with a unique take on Bollywood. The quirky, five-piece band from Kolkata guarantee a highly entertaining performance each time, and this was no different, as they played some of their most popular tracks, including Dancing Dancing and Item Song, in a set that will not be forgotten soon.
MojoJoJo then took over and had the crowd dancing from start to finish, with a bass-heavy, genre-hopping set that resonated hugely with gathered audience.
The second halt of the north tour will be on 8th October at PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh, where Indian Ocean will perform on the bus for the first time. The pioneers of Indian fusion rock are excited to be playing on “every touring band’s dream” early next month and promise fans a unique experience.
