In an exciting finale to a hugely popular season of India’s biggest dance reality show, Zee TV announces the winner of ‘Maruti Suzuki Dance India Dance powered by Quikr.com’ and it is none other than the super talented, versatile young dancing sensation from Mumbai – Shyam Yadav. Like every year, the grand finale was held at the Andheri Sports Complex in Mumbai. Shyam was crowned with the esteemed ‘Sunehri Taqdeer Ki Topi’ on receiving the highest number of votes from viewers pan-India.
18 year old Mumbai boy Shyam is currently in Grade 12. He has been taking professional dance training for over 8 years. He has been a part of judge Muddasar khan's dance academy and shares a great rapport with his mentor. The second runner-up was Manan Sachdev, followed by the third and fourth runners-up, Biki Das and Sumedh Mudgalkar respectively.
His mentor Master Mudassar said, “This is a HUGE moment of victory for Shyam and I am proud of him. He deserves every last bit of his recognition and fame. Together, we have worked on his strengths and pushed him beyond his comfort zone, attempting styles he had never imagined he would be able to master. He is a truly versatile dancer and has a long way to go!”
Grandmaster Mithun Da said, “I wish Shyam hearty congratulations on his victory. Without a doubt, the audience has chosen a truly deserving winner. I have observed him right through the course of his journey on DID and his learning curve has been most impressive. DID, as a platform, has opened the avenues for a meaningful career in dance for countless talented young dancers in the country and this season has been no exception. Here’s wishing all the finalists the very best in their goals and aspirations!”
At the finale, the top contenders ‘Danced It Out’ one last time on the esteemed stage of Dance India Dance. The evening was packed with the extra punch of excitement, entertainment and the ever-building suspense of who’ll walk away with the coveted trophy. The last set of performances by the finalists and masters were nothing short of spell-binding and spectacular. This season’s new trio of judges - Mudassar Khan, Shruti Merchant and Feroz Khan enthralled the audience with their smashing entries and powerhouse dance acts. Host Ishita Sharma performed with Master Mudassar Khan on Yeh chori badi drama queen hai. His magnificent entry on a sports bike that charged in from the back exit had the crowd going into frenzy. Master Shruti enchanted everyone with her stupendous dance on Aa re pritam pyare. Master Feroz Khan had the audience look up at the sky as he hung mid-air right above everyone’s heads and took some stunning aerial somersaults. Host Jay Bhanushali too grooved on a medley of dance hits and playfully challenged Mithun Chakraborty about taking over his Grandmaster throne, only to fall flat on his face when all the ladies voted for Dada to stay on as the host. Shyam’s spirited performance to ‘Dhating Naach' moved his father who was in the audience to tears. It was an emotional moment for Shyam as he was seeing his father after a very long time.. ‘King of Swag’ Manan, made a thrilling entry on a parachute and danced right in the middle of the audience, leaving them begging for more!
The sheer presence of Bollywood stars Farhan Akhtar and Vidya Balan added a sprinkling of stardust to the Grand Finale of dance India Dance. The first time ever on-screen pair, Farhan and Vidya promoted their upcoming release, Shaadi Ke Side-Effects. The two playfully poked fun at each other as a glimpse of their characters in the movie. Vidya shared a hilarious camaraderie with Mithun da as the two matched steps on Vidya’s song Ooh lala from Dirty Picture. Not to be left behind, Farhan also sang a song with Master Mudassar and left the audience roaring for an encore.
In a delightful special appearance at the Grand finale, the cast of Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming show on Zee TV, Kumkum Bhagya - the daughters of the Arora family landed up on stage to shake a leg and give their best wishes to the top finalists. Pragya (Sriti Jha) and Bulbul (Mrunal Thakur), danced on stage while introducing their show briefly.
After completing their exceptional journey of dance on the show, the winner walked away with many prizes apart from the sheer recognition and adulation across the country. Shyam, apart from winning ‘Sunheri Taqdeer Ki Topi’, walked away with a brand new Maruti Celerio car and a 3- year contract with Zee TV.
