After a successful stint in North and West, 101India heads to the Northeast with popular rapper Feyago, on a journey to find & collaborate with the region’s finest underground hip hop talent.
Hip Hop Homeland is an on-going web series on the flourishing underground hiphop scene in India. It endorses the voice of the street, bringing together artists who embody the hiphop sub-culture and has been able to build a strong community of fans.
Commenting on this, Cyrus Oshidar, MD & Chief Creative Officer, 10India.com said, “Hip Hop Homeland aims to provide a platform for powerful self expression &attempts to show how kids in India are using hip hop to give voice to a young socially conscious India. From the gullies of Mumbai to the streets of Northeast, hip hop artists are using this genre to speak to the world and 101India has been tracking this underground movement. “
Hip Hop Homeland Northeast premiered recently with a rap anthem featuring all the artists on the 101 India’s YouTube Channel. The Northeast faces the issues of identity crisis and human rights violations. The raps express the anguish of the region and its people.
The web series will then take the audience through individual profiles and stories of how each crew came together for the grand Hip Hop Anthem for the Northeast.
Hip Hop Homeland Northeast series introduces unique artists and crews like Khasi Bloodz, Symphonic Movement, Cryptographik Street Poets and B-boy Kim. The highlight of the series is the 13 year old rapper from Symphonic Movement who is possibly the youngest artist rapping about social issues.
The Northeast edition also brings an interesting union of rap and baul music composed by Feyago.
With the new edition, the property becomes bigger with interesting profiles, riveting music videos and live events.
