Shawn Mendes to release ‘Live at Madison Square Garden this week.

To thank his fans for an amazing year, Shawn Mendes has announced the 23rd December release of ‘Live At Madison Square Garden’. The live album was recorded at Shawn’s sold-out, one-night-only ‘Illuminate’ Live Concert & Album event on September 10th, documenting the singer/songwriter’s first time headlining New York City’s historic Madison Square Garden. In addition to hit singles Mercy, Treat You Better, Stitches and Life Of The Party, the live album also features special medleys of other tracks.

Earlier this year, Shawn released his sophomore album ‘Illuminate’ (Island Records), which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart to critical acclaim. The album has been featured on The Los Angeles Times’10 Best Albums of 2016, and Shawn has placed Top 10 on both Billboard’s Top Artists and Top Artists (Male) lists. The Associated Press has featured Shawn as #2 on their Top Songs of 2016 for Mercy and #5 on their Top Albums of 2016, proclaiming "The 18-year-old takes it to a new level on his second album, coming off as a bona fide rock star. His guitar playing has advanced, his songwriting has matured and his vocals are crisp: This kid's the real deal.”

Over the course of 2016, Shawn has headlined some of the world’s most iconic venues, including Radio City Music Hall and Madison Square Garden. He has recently celebrated the end of a successful year with his debut on Saturday Night Live, delivering powerful performances of Mercy and Treat You Better and he is now looking forward to his upcoming 2017 arena world tour. The Illuminate World Tour kicks off April 27th in Europe and July 6th in North America, with additional dates to be announced soon.
