Breaking records in a list of Award shows, “La La Land” soundtrack sweeps the charts by hitting No.1 in this week’s UK’s official Album Chart. Standing at number 2 in Billboard top 10 for the past week(currently No.3), the soundtrack finally made it to number one from two in four weeks after its release, knocking last week's chart-topper, Pete Tong's Classic House, down to 2.
The album has shown an outstanding sales and position in the charts since its releases along with bagging awards for the “Best Score “and “Best Original Song” in Golden Globes for the composer Justin Hurwitz. The album features orchestral recordings of popular dance tracks and have received several accolades since its releases including being nominated for almost every award show and taking Top positions in music charts across the globe giving the radio star Justin No.1 position.
In addition the album also leaps as one of the top albums in pure sales with a sale of over 42,000 album equivalent units.
The Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone starrer, captured 7 nominations at the Golden Globes this year winning all of them and is soon set to lead the Oscar’s with 14 nominations (Titanic Score) including the one for ‘Best Original Music Score and twice in the ‘Best Song’ for City of Stars and Audition. With Record breaking nominations this year, La La Land is sure to sweep the Oscar’s.
