The iconic Mehboob Studios witnessed Mumbai’s biggest celebration of blues music on the weekend with the Mahindra Blues Festival that boasted of a line-up of the finest blues marvels from across the globe. 

Among the hundreds that thronged the festival on both days were Bollywood celebrities including Farhan Akhtar, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Amrita Arora.

Day one began with the potent rhythms of the Blackstratblues, followed by a soul-stirring gig by Janiva Magness. Headliner, Quinn Sullivan treated the audience to a phenomenal set, ending the day on a high.

Irish blueswoman, Grainne Duffy opened day two with a magical gig, followed by Shemekia Copeland’s electric performance. The Mahindra Blues Band Hunt winners; BLU enthralled the audience on both days of the festival with their scintillating beats at the Garden area.

The festival’s grand finale saw a terrific performance by the Supersonic Blues Machine featuring Blues legends Billy F. Gibbons & Eric Gales, leaving the audience in anticipation for Mahindra Blues Festival 2018.
