Times Music and World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF) will be releasing a specially created music compilation in support of the Earth Hour. The 5 tracks on the compile represent each of the 5 great elements of nature, but equally great are the artists behind these compositions. With names like Ustad Zakir Hussain, Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Vikku Vinayakram & Pt. Bhavani Shankar to name a few, one couldn’t ask for a more powerful line-up for such a powerful cause.

Earth Hour is a worldwide movement for the planet organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). It encourages individuals and businesses across the world to switch off their non-essential lights for one hour to raise awareness for the planet. It was famously started as a lights-off event in Sydney, Australia in 2007. Since then it has grown to engage more than 7000 cities and towns worldwide, and the one-hour event continues to remain the key driver of the now larger movement. The event is held worldwide and held towards the end of March annually. Earth Hour 2013 was celebrated on 23rd March 2013.

The Earth Hour initiative by the World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF) that encourages individuals and businesses across the world to switch off their non-essential lights for one hour to raise awareness for the planet has created a global impact over the last 7 years. This year, Times Music, will be releasing a specially created music compilation, Sounds of Harmony,  in support of the Earth Hour and WWF-India. The 5 tracks on the compile represent each of the 5 great elements of nature, but equally great are the artists behind these compositions. With names like Ustad Zakir Hussain, Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Vikku Vinayakram & Pt. Bhavani Shankar to name a few, one couldn’t ask for a more powerful line-up for such a powerful cause. The album will be available  in India across digital download & streaming portals like iTunes, Gaana, Nokia MixRadio and more. Part of the proceeds from song sales of the Earth Hour compile will go to WWF-India for their Earth Hour initiatives. What started as a city specific movement in Sydney in the year 2007 has now spread to over 7000 cities and over 150 countries globally. Earth Hour 2014 is scheduled for Saturday, 29^th March, from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (India Time).
