For those who don’t know, The Record Store Day is the most important day in the record-buying calendar of a vinyl enthusiast. It’s a global event that brings together music lovers, musicians, and thousands of independent record stores across the world.
The Record Store Day was conceived at a gathering of independent record store owners and employees in Baltimore in 2007 as a way to celebrate the culture surrounding independently owned record stores the world over. Today, there are participating stores on every continent.
It has grown into a worldwide phenomenon, garnering support from several prominent musicians with special appearances and performances at the participating stores. Major record labels like Universal Music issue special pressings of albums that are reserved specifically for this day.
For you, the record enthusiast, it is a day of sifting through crates for albums that are hard to find. We’re working hard with our partners - Sony DADC - to get the albums you’ve always wanted.
If you are someone who just loves music, it will be a day in the comfort of the familiar and excitement of the new. Also expect to bump into hundreds of vinylheads like yourself.
So come, and be a part of India’s very first Record Store Day celebrations.
