Music enthusiasts from different parts of Goa relived the 70s and went down memory lane at the Dr.Shyam Prasad Mukhejee Stadium in Bambolim on Saturday evening when the ABBA tribute band The Show-A Tribute To ABBA performed live.
Purplive a property of Alica Purple Avenues, hosted their maiden event in Goa featuring Sweden ‘Waterloo’ along with members of the National Symphony Orchestra from London with The Show-A Tribute To ABBA.
Setting the stage alive all the way from Sweden were four singers who perform and look like the original ABBA. With their unique style of performing ABBA’s popular hits, they sang songs from the original band’s repertoire. You had I Do I Do I Do, Mama Mia, Thank You for the Music, Waterloo, Chiquitita and many more. The band performed non – stop for over 90 minutes.
The highlight of the evening was a special children’s choir from Goa consisting of over 20 children with a message printed on their T-Shirt ‘Goa Smiles With Me’. With a lot of enthusiasm and in unison they all sang ‘I had A Dream with the group The Show-A Tribute To ABBA. The song touched the hearts of everyone present to see them perform live on stage.
Infact one of the leadsingers of the group was so impressed by the children’s choir, that she mentioned they had not seen anything like this before when they toured around the world.
Sitting in the audiences was a girl on wheelchair who had come especially to see her favorite band perform and to her surprise all the members of the group took picture together and made her wish come true. She meet with each of them and posed for pictures too.
The opening act of the evening showcased Goa’s best known band ‘The Syndicate’ playing all their popular hits along with a mix of Goan music that had audience asking for more.
