Rapper Y-Ash wins the Mumbai leg of Red Bull Spotlight, a search for the country’s next hip-hop star

Yash Marchande, aka Y-ash, becomes the third finalist for season two of Red Bull Spotlight, after winning the Mumbai leg of the competition held at SIES College. After a successful first edition, Red Bull Spotlight returns for season two this year – this time as a search for India’s next hip-hop star. Marchande will be joined by finalists from nine other cities – Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Pune, Ahmedabad and Chandigarh – for the national finals in Mumbai.

Dr Zeus's statement on copyright claim on "Gwandian"

Dr Zeus's song Gwandian staring Richa Chadha and Varun Sharma embroiled in a controversy. A police head constable from a village near Jalandhar in Punjab, Amrik Singh Shera, claimed that the lyrics were originally penned by him in the ’90s, for which he hadn’t been credited. Dr Zeus clears the air about the controversy and says "I have been unaware about Amrik Singh Shera's role in the song since I got the copyright from Amar Arshi. Personally, I believe in giving credit for where it is due and if I had known this then I would have definitely given him credit for his part. Now that I know the whole story, I would like to acknowledge Amrik Singh Shera for his great work and I want people to know that he is the actual writer for the blockbuster hit Gwandian Da Dhol."
